How to sell to Heads of Marketing at Real estate companies

Heads of Marketing in real estate are measured on lead generation and conversion rates. They respond well to outreach that showcases a deep understanding of market trends, such as shifts in buyer demographics or the impact of digital marketing. Recognizing their need for innovative marketing strategies that effectively engage potential buyers can prompt them to respond to your outreach.

Written and maintained by the SoloRiff team, who build outbound software and run outbound with it. The figures below are our own: we measured 562 real estate company domains over public DNS on 2026-09-03. Last updated 2026-09-03.

What actually hurts

  • low lead conversion rates
  • ineffective digital marketing strategies
  • inability to track marketing ROI
  • competition from tech-savvy firms

The playbook

  1. 01

    Identify recent property launches

Research real estate companies that have recently launched new properties. Use platforms like Zillow and local real estate news to find announcements. This indicates they are actively marketing and may need support in reaching potential buyers.

  2. 02

    Analyze their digital presence

Evaluate their website and social media for engagement metrics. Check their follower counts and post interactions on platforms like Instagram and Facebook. If their engagement is low, they may be open to new marketing solutions.

  3. 03

    Highlight market trend insights

Craft messages that include insights about current real estate trends, such as the rise of virtual tours or changes in buyer preferences. Tailor your outreach to address how these trends impact their marketing strategies and lead generation efforts.

  4. 04

    Anticipate objections about budget

Prepare to address potential budget concerns by showcasing the ROI of innovative marketing tactics. Use examples of how other real estate firms increased leads with targeted campaigns to alleviate fears about spending.

  5. 05

    Time outreach around industry events

Schedule your outreach to coincide with major real estate conferences or expos. Sending your message just before or during these events can capitalize on their heightened interest in new marketing strategies and tools.

Can real estate companies even receive your mail?

We measured the DNS of 562 real estate companies, sampled evenly across company sizes, to see how many authenticate their own email. It matters in both directions: a domain that does not authenticate is a domain whose team is used to mail going missing — and if your own domain is in the gap, yours is the mail going missing.

The gap is the finding: 25.2% of 1–10-person companies against 83.6% of the largest — 58 points apart. Small companies are where the unauthenticated domains are, and small companies are who most cold outreach is aimed at.

How this was measured

Company domains were sampled within employee-count bands, then queried over public DNS for SPF (TXT at the apex), DMARC (TXT at _dmarc.) and MX. One domain per company, deduplicated. Anyone can reproduce any single row of this with dig.

DKIM is deliberately absent. A DKIM key lives under a selector that cannot be enumerated from outside the domain, so a company with flawless DKIM under a name we did not guess would be counted as having none. That would measure our guess list, not the industry.

Domains with no MX record are excluded rather than counted as failures — parked and redirect-only domains would otherwise drag every figure down and make the result an artefact of the sample.

Sampled within bands, so this describes the population of companies, not of employees: a 10-person company counts once, as does a 10,000-person one. Each band is at least 60 domains; bands below that are not published. Figures are percentages of the sample, not of the whole industry, and we publish no company names — only counts.
